It has been a very complicated decision, but taking into account all aspects, the Arctis 7 are the best. They are compatible with different platforms, they are wireless with a good battery, customizable (both physically and at the firmware level) and their sound is great. It is true that they are not the best in any particular category, but at a general level, they are among the best in everything.

The Best headsets by Categories

For PlayStation – Razer Thresher 7.1

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If you want the best headsets for the PS4, these Razer are. They are very comfortable and their sound is quite identical to that of the Razer Man’O War, but a bit improved. In addition, they are 100% compatible with the PS4 and PC, in addition to having 7.1 sound compatibility.

The only thing you should keep in mind is that they are not completely compatible with PS4 Slim. For this console we recommend the Turtle Beach 600 .

For the Switch – SteelSeries Arctis 3 Bluetooth

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018If you just bought the Switch, you should know that you can use Bluetooth headsets, but you need the transmitter to be compatible with USB Type C, or you need to buy a USB Type-C dongle with USB connection. In short, a mess. That’s why the best are the Artics 3 with Bluetooth, a slightly more expensive version, but compatible with many terminals, counting your smartphone.

The most comfortable – HyperX Revolver S

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Kingston has always been characterized by its comfort, and the Revolver S continue the tradition of the brand. If you think they are very expensive, you can always buy the version without 7.1 sound that cost much less on Amazon . But if you are willing to pay a little more, another option to take into account are the Turtle Beach Elite Pro , that even have some pads designed for those who wear glasses.

Full list – Best Gaming headsets of 2018

HyperX Cloud Stinger

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If you are looking for something very cheap, the best option is possibly these Kingston headsets. The HyperX Stinger are headsets designed specifically for eSports players, and although they do not have surround sound, their stereo quality is very good thanks to the 50mm drivers that they incorporate.

Its construction and design in black and red does not attract much attention, but even so they are quite complete. They bring a microphone with noise cancellation, interchangeable faux leather earmuffs and even adapters for different devices. Its pads are rotating and also brings a volume control built into the headsets.

Logitech G430

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

These Logitech are classics that after many years continue as one of the most recommended at low prices. Although it does not incorporate the most recent audio drivers, its sound quality is enviable, especially the 7.1 surround sound . However, by not opening the ears much, its isolation is not the best.

They are quite complete headsets and that even today receive updates from Logitech, which is appreciated. His braided cable is also very long and his microphone seems to be a mid-range.

Corsair HS50

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

For this price range we also recommend the Corsair HS50 STEREO, a headset compatible with PC, Xbox One and PS4 that Corsair has recently launched. They may not be the most comfortable on the list, however, their sound and microphone are not bad. Yes, the noise cancellation could be better.

If you are interested in this model, you can see our full review .

Creative Labs Sound Blaster

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

In NewEsc we have been recommending these headsets for more than a year, and the truth is that they do not seem to disappear from our list, especially if they continue to fall in price. These gaming headsets are wireless , quite comfortable thanks to their breathable foam earmuffs and they have surround sound 7.1 virtual .

You will not have to worry much about your battery either, once they last longer than 15 hours of play in a row . They also bring different audio profiles that you can export and share with other users. The only negative point we can mention is related to the microphone, which does not seem to be at the same level as the other sections. But if you are not very demanding in this section, you should not worry.

SteelSeries Arctis 3

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

SteelSeries has always been known for launching excellent products, and when it comes to low-cost gaming headsets, the Arctis 3 are among the best. They are very nice headsets, with many possibilities of personalization and a sound that is at the level of other much more expensive headsets.

The only difference of Arctis 3 and Arctis 5 is that they have RGB lighting and USB with Chat Mix. In everything else, audio, comfort and microphone is identical. So, if you are looking for Premium headphones, with 7.1 sound, good design and cheap, the Artics 3 are an excellent bet.

HyperX Cloud II

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

The Cloud II are other headsets that we have been recommending for a long time for two fundamental reasons: sound and comfort . It incorporates 53mm speakers and 7.1 surround sound with very good quality. In relation to its construction, it is quite solid and its earmuffs are among the most comfortable on the market. Its removable microphone is not the best, but it fulfills what was promised.

In addition to their excellent quality, they come with some extras to keep in mind , like some extra pads, a USB control box and still a bag to transport the headsets. The only thing we would like is for Kingston to create a firmware to be able to customize them.

Corsair Void Pro Surround

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

The new Corsair Void Pro are the new gaming headsets that were launched in August 2017. With a unique and quite attractive design, they integrate large 50mm speakers and 7.1 sound . We love their sound, but we believe they could have better insulation. Its construction is fantastic and materials are very premium , but the isolation is not the best.

Corsair’s firmware, CUE, is also very complete, but we think it could be better if it allows for extra button configurations and deeper sound calibration. Pulling this, you must take into account the different Void Pro that exist: Surround, RGB and Wireless.

SteelSeries Arctis 5

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If you do not need a wireless headset, but you want to personalize it, the Arctis 5 is an option to consider for its excellent balance. It has a nice construction, excellent sound, are comfortable and has many features.

They are identical to the Arctis 3 with the sole exception of ChatMix , the lighting RGB and the USB connector.

Sennheiser GSP 350

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

The GSP 350 is the 7.1 surround sound version of the well-known Sennheiser GSP 300 that costs € 20 less . They have an interesting design, with quite large and comfortable pads, and a noise canceling microphone which is considered by many as one of the best in low-end gaming headsets.

The only negative point we can mention about these headsets is really the customization firmware. It is very simple and easy to use, but it lacks more options than other brands of the competition incorporate.

Logitech G433

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Many of us do not use gaming headsets away from home because of its exaggerated size or because many times the microphone can not be removed. Logitech has created some so nice and functional headsets They can be used both at home and on the street (the microphone can be removed), and with excellent performance.

These headsets have a construction a little out of the ordinary: a hydrophobic tissue that is resistant to the sleeves and breathable and washable sports mesh pads. Although its drivers are 40mm, it has surround sound when it is used in the computer. Its connection is made by 3.5mm jack, which makes it compatible with all consoles, but also mobile.

Razer Kraken 7.1 V2 Chroma

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

For less than € 100, a headset that could not be missing are the Kraken 7.1 V2. These Razer headsets are the second version of a headset that had construction and isolation problems. These weaknesses were resolved and now we have headphones with a good weight, a very nice and resistant touch and a good fixation on the head.

Thanks to Razer’s firmware, Synapse, you can also customize Chroma lighting of the headsets, but also other details related to the audio and the microphone. The sound 7.1 is good in the games, but you can only take advantage of all its splendor in PC, since in PS4 for example, the sound is stereo.

You can see our full review in this link .

Turtle Beach Stealth 520

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Although some of the above can be used with the PS4, if you are a console player, these Turtle Beach are the best option. Good compatibility with the PS3, PS4 and PS4 Pro , as well as 7.1 DTS sound in these consoles.

There is a more recent version and we also recommend in this article. The three major differences between the two is in the microphone that has been improved, in its new design that follows the current line of Turtle Beach, and in stereo sound. Therefore, if you need something cheaper and with 7.1 sound, the 520 is a good option.

Turtle Beach Stealth 600

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If yours is the PS4, but the previous Turtle Beach did not attract your attention, then the new Stealth 600 can do it. They have a New design more comfortable and with better insulation , as well as a microphone with better noise cancellation and quality .

Although it does not have 7.1 sound like the Stealth 520 or Stealth 700 from Turtle Beach, it does have good surround sound thanks to its 50mm speakers . The only negative points that could be improved is its compatibility with mobiles and the duration of its battery, which lasts about 6 hours of use.

Creative Labs Sound BlasterX H7

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

They are quite balanced headphones. They do not have the best sound or they are the most comfortable that exist, but for its price the truth is that we can not deny that it is among the best.

The materials of construction and its design also please us a lot and its audio quality does not stand out, but it will allow you to enjoy open worlds in games or Shooters without any problem.

Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

They are the same Corsair that we recommend previously. However, this is the version Wireless with RGB lights that can be customized If you do not like cables, for a little more you can buy this version.

You can read our review on these headphones here .

Logitech G533

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

These are the new Logitech wireless gaming headsets that come to fight face to face with the G933. Although the G533 are not at the same patamar sound level in our opinion – almost achieved with their new Drivers Pro-G – The truth is that your new design and reduced price they are two facts that we can not ignore and that will convince more than one to choose them.

Your battery lasts about 14 hours of use, and your microphone has a microfilter of noise that diminishes those sounds we make with our breathing, for example. It also has several controls on the headphones, such as the volume and to mute the microphone.

ASUS ROG Strix Fusion 300

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

They are not the best headphones you can get for this price. They are very nice and comfortable, but their sound is at the level of headsets that cost less than € 100. It is compatible with PC and PS4, but not with the Xbox. That said, the only reason you’re on this list is because of its design and comfort, and you should keep that in mind if you get it for less than € 90.

Audio-Technica ATH M50x

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

It is not a brand that we see very often in Gaming recommendations, but the truth is that they are headphones with a awesome sound . Despite being closed, you still get to experience a very broad sound that allows you to identify steps and shots. They are one of the most recommended headphones on the market by audiophiles.

Very comfortable, lightweight and easy to use for long periods of time. As additional advantages we can say that they come in 4 color options: black, white, blue and dark green; They are foldable, which improves portability and also bring three cables of different sizes.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If you play both on PC and PS4, and you want a 7.1 surround sound , then you should see the Stealth 700. They are identical to the 600 that we showed above, but with some improvements. For example, it has 7.1 surround sound, noise canceler in the microphone and still connection Bluetooth so you can connect it to your mobile devices.

SteelSeries Arctis 7

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

These are the latest SteelSeries headsets from the Arctis series and are characterized by two things: wireless connection and construction. They are the first wireless models (SteelSeries now launched the Arctis 3 Bluetooth) that they work with PC, macOS and also PS4 . Its construction is much more premium than that of its brothers, with the headband in aluminum , but unfortunately they do not have RGB lighting.

Its sound is very good, although 7.1 is not that I was very convinced. Yes, the microphone is one of the best for this price range – but the best to be honest . If you are interested in learning more about these headsets, you can see our Review of SteelSeries Arctis 7 .

HyperX Cloud Revolver S

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

These HyperX are the evolution of the Revolver, which did not have the same success as the Cloud II, not being 7.1. Now, they were updated to incorporate Dolby Surround 7.1 and a new audio control box. The Revolver S are headsets that could be the best, and perhaps they are for some people, but not for someone looking for a total balance. They are super comfortable, but their microphone is not up to its sound or construction, for example.

We recommend these headsets for those who want to pay for a premium comfort . They are very comfortable, but we found the same sound quality in other headsets with cables like the Cloud II or even the Arctis 5, and if you want something wireless, for the same price you have the Logitech G533 and Razer ManO’War.

Astro A40 TR

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

If you are looking for a Gaming headset with a excellent audio quality , the Astro A40 are a good choice. In addition to being one of the best we have heard for this price range, its construction is quite resistant, although its design may not be the most innovative or attractive for many people.

The big problem with these headsets is that to get the most out of you, you must acquire the MixAmp Pro, which costs more than € 100 . But even without this audio decoder, the sound of these headphones is amazing.

Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

It is very possible that you do not know the brand, but we can assure you that these headsets have a clear and clean sound, and interesting extras, such as possibility of modifying it to be open, semi-open or closed . This is an impressive feature, since it allows you to adapt them to any circumstance.

Its construction quality is extremely good , and almost every element on the headset can be customized. Another aspect that we want to highlight is its impedance of only 16 ohms, which means that its integrated sound card will not have a driving problem and you should not need an auxiliary DAC of any kind.

HyperX Cloud Flight

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

HyperX was always characterized by launching very comfortable gaming headsets, and Cloud Flight continue the tradition. The only thing that we would like is that its construction was a bit more solid, since for what it is worth we can find better offers in this sense. In addition, it does not have any firmware, and for this price it is something that we can demand.

Your microphone is removable but it does not sound good to be honest. In relation to the sound, there are no great improvements in relation to the Cloud 2, with the exception of the basses that now do not feel so exaggerated. In conclusion, an excellent option for those who want comfortable and wireless headsets.

Razer ManO’War

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Razer bets on the ManO’War for the medium range of Gaming headsets. This device brings about 50mm speakers and a retractable microphone of very good quality. The buttons and controls are in each ear and are reasonably easy to use. There are two versions, one wired, and another Wireless that will last you about 14 hours of use.

The small Bluetooth dongle is inside the headset (so it’s unlikely to lose) and its configuration is very simple. On the PS4 you just have to connect the dongle directly to one of its USB ports and it connects automatically. On PC it is also very simple and you will get an exceptional 7.1 Surround sound through the Razer Synapse application.

We’ve tried it and here you can see our complete review

Razer Thresher 7.1

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Finding headsets for PS4 that have 7.1 and that are also compatible with PC is not an easy task, unless we increase our budget. In that case we can find several like these Razer Thresher 7.1.

These headsets were created specifically for the PS4, so its compatibility is assured. In addition to the surround sound and the removable microphone, these headsets are very comfortable and have an excellent sound. The only difference between this and its Ultimate version is that it does not have the support base that allows you to quickly switch between PC and PS4. Otherwise, they are identical.

Logitech G933

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

One of the most recommended headsets in recent years, but they are already in need of an update. Although its design is quite interesting, its comfort remains behind that of other headsets, even those of Logitech. Its sound and isolation is very good , and that is why we recommend it.

It has buttons to mute the microphone, others to control the volume and three G buttons that can be customized . The microphone is extendable, so it can be removed when necessary, and return to save very comfortably.

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700x

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

They are a little recommended headphones for Gaming because they do not have a microphone. However, considering its quality / price ratio , we have to say that they are the best.

The low frequencies are great, but it is the medias that exalt their quality, which is essential for a high quality experience when you are playing. The AD in AD700x means “aerodynamic” and they called it that because of the diadem system. It does not extend through the head like normal headphones, but has 2 “pads” that rest on the head. Even if it’s a strange system, it’s actually pretty comfortable .

V-Fashion Crossfade Wireless

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

They do not have the best design in the world, but we can assure you that they are very, very very resistant . The pads that come from defects are also not the most comfortable on the market, but for € 25 you can buy the XL, which increases your comfort considerably.

In relation to sound, we have to admit that we were impressed. Maybe your low be a bit exaggerated for most people, but otherwise meets expectations. his isolation is not total , that is, we continue to hear a little of the external noise.

Turtle Beach Elite Pro

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Now we come to recommend some headsets from Turtle Beach that are not for the PS4, but for PC players. These headsets not only have an impressive design, but are extremely comfortable and very recommended for those who use glasses.

But what stands out most are these headsets are in their 50mm speakers and in his microphone. They are simply spectacular – although if you want to get the most out of it, you should buy them with the tactical sound adapter, which costs around € 50 more.

ASUS ROG Centurion 7.1

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

Those ASUS have three things that we love: impressive design, integrated amplifier and surround sound 7.1 with 10 integrated speakers . Its appearance is simply sublime, both that of headsets with lighting, and that of the amplifier. They are also quite comfortable and they integrate interchangeable pads. What is not so good, or at least is not at the same level as the rest, is your microphone.

Unlike other headsets in which you must buy a amplifier Besides, these ASUS already have one that is very complete and easy to use. These controls increase when installing ASUS Sonic Studio , an app that allows you to change even more aspects of the audio. Anyway, headsets very complete that justify their price.

Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

As well as the ASUS that we recommended previously, these Razer Tiamat V2 are headsets with 10 integrated speakers (5 in each headset), which allows you to achieve a real surround sound of 7.1. Accompanying the sound we have a fairly complete audio control, something that is appreciated once we are talking about really expensive headsets.

Something in which these Tiamat stand out is in their comfort, being one of the most comfortable high-end market . Your microphone is not bad – I like it – but it is not at the same level as the sound. The last point to highlight is its design and lighting Chroma in one of the headsets, which look great!

SteelSeries Siberia 840

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

With the same design as the Siberia 800, we can find for € 288 , the 840 integrate small improvements that may or may not justify its price – it depends on who is asked. The great improvement is in its Bluetooth connection , which allows you to connect with more devices wirelessly. Another improvement consists in the customization of the headset with the SteelSeries Engine 3 app

Another interesting aspect of these headsets is that they come with two batteries , which means that you can use one while the other is loading. The negative point is that you must always remove it from the headsets to recharge. Its sound is splendid and very good , but we do not know to what extent it is justified to pay this price when for less we have an audio at the same level.

Astro A50

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018

It is considered by many as the best gaming headset of today And the truth is that it is surprising. Not only does it have a clear and deep sound quality, but it is Wireless , comes with an amplifier and it is still compatible with all the latest generation consoles.

Despite being wireless and somewhat large, they are very comfortable. In addition, they are customizable , which means that they will last you a long time, as long as Astro sells its accessories for some time. In relation to its battery, the brand indicates that they last about 16 hours, but it is not like that. They will last about 12 hours of intensive use, which means that it is within average.

Important aspects when buying headphones Gaming cheap

There are some important aspects to consider before buying a gaming headset . The first of all is to know the difference between the different types of headsets:

  • Digital headsets: With an integrated DAC (digital to analog converter), digital headphones offer higher sound and software integration. The headphones with USB connection will work on the PC / Macs and PlayStation consoles, while the optical-based headphones will work with the Xbox and PlayStation consoles (except the Slim 4), and the PCs with optical ports on the motherboard, the card internal sound or the USB sound card.
  • Analog headsets: they use one or more 3.5 mm connectors to transmit audio to the headphones, and they are usually universally compatible with PCs, consoles and mobile devices. Although their sound is cleaner, they are usually limited, so it is always recommended to use a compatible sound card.
  • Wireless headsets: With a transmitter connected to the PC or console, wireless headphones are usually heavier and require them to be charged frequently. The battery life and audio quality depends on each brand, but they are usually lower than other wired headsets that cost the same.

After this you must look at the headset design . Although most gaming headsets are closed, since they allow you to enter the game world in a deeper way, there are also some open ones – although they are more scarce. Depending on your preferences, you should choose one or the other.

Another aspect to take into account is the compatibility with the devices you need . For example, if you want compatible headsets with your mobile and consoles, attentive, because many are not. Some wireless do not have a Bluetooth connection, so if you do not allow the use of a cable jack (most allow it) you can not use them with your mobile. The same goes for consoles.

In relation to sound we see how the companies try to sell the 7.1 sound as if it were a “Holy Grail” , when in reality it is not. It is preferable to buy headsets with good speakers and excellent sound, some with surround sound 7.1 but that will only give you headaches because they are not very good.

The Best Gaming headsets of the Present | March 2018“alt =” “/>

In relation to surround sound, you must know these two distinctions:

  • Virtual surround audio: These headphones do not have 7 or 5 speakers in each earpad. What they do is simulate the audio with the software so that it seems really immersive.
  • Surround audio “true”: these if we have many small speakers inside the headset, which allows to recreate the surround sound in a more natural and with quality. The problem is that they tend to be more expensive and heavy.

Another aspect not to forget is the microphone , very important in today’s days. Most headsets have good microphones and excellent noise cancellation. The quality of the sound will depend a lot on brand for brand, so the choice is a bit complex. What we recommend is that you listen to some tests on YouTube to see if you like how they sound.

Some headsets also do not carry a microphone, especially the most expensive and not oriented exclusively to Gaming. In these cases you will have a spectacular sound, but you must accompany it with an external microphone.

It is also worth referring the programs of each headset. Let’s see for example the CUE of Corsair, Synapse of Razer and many others that allow you to change some parameters of the sound and lighting of the headsets. These programs are usually hardly compatible with PC, but Turtle Beach, for example, also creates exclusive profiles for certain games on the PS4 and Xbox.

If you have any more technical questions, I will be happy to help you.
